"Sometimes we think there is one perfect formula for connecting with God and only one way in which we can have a relationship with Him, but that’s not the case. He created us to be unique and therefore we all connect in unique ways to our Father."
We all enjoy showing our loved ones just how much they mean to us, but what about Christ? Do we show Him the same love and share with Him our treasures the way we do with our friends and family?
I encourage you this Advent to prepare for the coming of our Lord by avoiding comfort and complacency, embracing silence, and allowing your suffering to be redeemed, to truly make yourself open and receptive to God’s word. Enough distractions. Enough avoidance.
"This Advent, instead of falling once again into the endless cycle of preparing for the day of Christmas and not the season of Christmas, let us yearn to prepare our hearts and souls for the coming of Christ, and to use these days as days of penance and prayer, so we are ready to meet the Lord when He comes."
